Or shall I say I have been waking up remembering the dreams I had with more frequency? Over the last couple of weeks the pattern has been: Go to bed around 4, sleep till 9 or so, then (a) go back to sleep, or (b) wakeup for the day. When I wakeup and then fall back to sleep; that is when Le Cinéma de l'esprit begins and I sit back and am astounded by my mind and its workings. From beautiful and fantasy filled to dark, cursed, and morbid to fearfull reactions in lieu of a force unseen. There have been times that I wake up pleased and calm because I had worked though a problem, found something I had lost, or accomplished a feat of much daring; to find out it was an illusion of the mind. Other times the bed sheets are soaked in my sweat and I cannot get back to sleep for the life of me. Regardless of the state in which I wake; if it were possible, or at least if the choice was left to me, I would choice to reside completely in my mind as it rests... or should I say as it wakes? When I am in control of my mind I find I get very little satisfaction from it. When control is relinquished? Spectaculaire'...

Sam: [Both are overcome by exhaustion] Do you remember the Shire, Mr. Frodo? It'll be spring soon. And the orchards will be in blossom. And the birds will be nesting in the hazel thicket. And they'll be sowing the summer barley in the lower fields... and eating the first of the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries?
Frodo: No, Sam. I can't recall the taste of food... nor the sound of water... nor the touch of grass. I'm... naked in the dark. There's... There's nothing. No veil between me and the wheel of fire. I can't see with my waking eyes.
